SU Art Collection

Home / Exhibitions

The collection of Strathmore University Exhibition is a living collection. It is articulated around two main axes: African heritage and the Contemporary Art collections. The union of both collections allows the encounter between disciplines – sculpture, painting, photography -, which describes the art production of our time.

The African Heritage collection allows us to witness Africa’s rich legacy to the world’s art.  With pieces from all over Africa, this includes African ceremonial objects, original African textiles, sculptures, paintings and photographs by Carol Beckwith and Angela Fisher of African Ceremonies.

The Contemporary Art Collection is a living collection, which currently has paintings from young contemporary african artists.

The Sacred Art Collection represents the diverse selection of the Christian religious art around our campus.
